29. Exo-yang illness, with floating pulse, voluntary sweating, frequent urination, disturbed or agitated emotion, slight chill, cramp and pain in the calf, stiff legs, are due to weakness of both exo-yin and exo-yang. Due to wrong treatment (like sweat inducing and purging), the yin fluid and yang energy are further weaken, lead to cold limbs, dry throat, emotional agitation, vomit and some other symptoms. To treat the problem, first we should boost the yang energy by Gancao Ganjiang tang. After taking the said soup, if the cold limbs started to warm up, especially the legs, then it indicates the yang energy is recovered. After that, we boost the yin fluid using Shaoyao Gancao Tang. When the yin body fluid is recovering, the cramp and pain in the calf will be relieved, the legs can be stretched easily. If due to wrong treatment like purging and excessive sweat inducing, this will lead to dehydration in the stomach system, disturbed the functions of the body, this will lead to delirium and incoherent speech. It can be treated with small quantity of Tiaowei Chengqi Tang. If due to repeated wrong treatment of inducing the sweat, wrong using of fire needle to forcefully induce sweating, will lead to dehydration and weakening of yang energy in the exo-yin, this should be treated with Si Ni Tang. Gancao Ganjiang Tang ==================== Gancao 12g, Zhi Ganjiang 6g. Add 600 ml water, boils till 300ml, remove the boiled herbs, divide the soup and drink it twice warm. Shaoyao Gancao Tang =================== Bai Shaoyao 12g Gancao 12g, add 600 ml water boils to 300 ml, remove the boiled herbs, divide the soup and drink it twice warm. Tiaowei Chengqi Tang =================== skinned Dahuang 12g, aged wine washed Gancao 6g, Zhi Mangxiao 12g, add 600g to Dahuang and Gancao initially, boils to 200 ml, removed the boiled herbs, add in the Mangxiao, reheat and reboil slightly, drink it warm in small quantity each time. Si Ni Tang ========= Gancao 6g, Zhi Ganjiang 4.5g, skinned unprocessed Fuzi one piece (12g) cut into 8 pieces. Add 600ml water, boils to 240ml, removed the boiled herbs, divide the soup and drink it twice. For physically strong patient, use one big Fuzi (20 to 30g) and ganjiang up to 9g.
